Barter Island Airport (PABA/BTI)

Built in 1955 to support the construction of the BAR-Main DEW Line radar site, the Barter Island Airport is a civilian/military airfield that serves the City of Kaktovik and several North Warning System military radar sites. Owned by the North Slope Borough, the airfield offers regularly scheduled passenger service as well as charter passenger and freight flights.
