The Flagstaff Amtrak depot is at 1 East Route 66 in downtown Flagstaff, Arizona. Built in 1926 as the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway depot, it doubles as a visitor center. Northern Arizona University is located nearby, as are the Lowell Observatory (where Pluto was discovered), Sunset Crater, Walnut Canyon National Monument, ski resorts, and other attractions. The 1889 solid-red sandstone freight depot built by the Atlantic and Pacific Railroad is adjacent to the east.
