Achankovil ayyappa swamy temple . Swamiye Saranam Ayyappa One of the main temples of Lord Ayyappa, it is believed that the idol here is consecrated by Lord Parasurama himself. The temple is similar to the famous shrine at Sabarimala. The Manalar Falls and the Kumbuvurutty Falls, which also has a Nature Interaction Centre, are along the way to this temple

This temple is very famous for treatment for Snake bites as the devotees believe that the offerings from the temple has got curative properties against poisons from snakes and other animals like spiders, scorpions etc. How far it is scientifically true is yet to be verified by clinical methods
