Thoothukudi, also known as Tuticorin, is a port city and a Municipal Corporation in Thoothukudi district of the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. Thoothukudi is the headquarters of Thoothukudi District.

Thoothukudi is also known as "Pearl City". It is a commercial seaport which serves the inland cities of Southern India. Thoothukudi is one of the sea gateway of Tamil Nadu. It is also one of the major seaports in India with its history dating back to the 6th century AD.

  • i am very happy to say, it's my native. i want some important development here. first one, this road is very narrow and not proper desing, so need to be develop and public also need given support. next railway gate and station is not devloping, also bus stand. goverment has to do fully develop infrastructre.another one important matter, drinking water should be develop thank you for allow to my comment

  • My wife and I taught at Geetha School, Tuticorin as volunteers, 10 years ago. The Headteacher was called Uma.Two of the teachers were Mary and Miss Jakodi. Our time at the school was made memorable by the enthusiasm of the students and the hospitality of the teachers. Regretably we lost contact with the school but a recent wisit to S India (not Tuticorin)brought back happy memories and we wonder what has become of the school, its teachers, head and owner, Mr Jeevans.   • I cant forget tuticorin harbour beach ..I was staying in tuticorin harbour estate about more than 25 years.I had such a nice life there.I studued in St fr.xaviers. Presently i am in Dubai working as an Engineer.May Lord Jesus Bless Tuticorin and People of tuticorin.
