Desert Sky Wind Farm is located atop the eastern part of Indian Mesa, north of the junction of Interstate 10 with US 190 about 45 miles east of Fort Stockton, Texas. Commissioned in 2001, it consists of 107 Enron 1.5s wind turbines with a combined nominal capacity of 160.5 MW.

Note that the turbines on the western part of the mesa belong to a different wind farm: Indian Mesa Wind Farm.
Some stats:
GE Wind Energy 1.5 turbines
107 wind turbines, rated 1.5 megawatts (1,500 kilowatts) each
Height of tower: approx. 200 feet (equal to a 20-story building)
Rotor assembly diameter (sweep of blades): 231 feet (greater than the wingspan of a Boeing 747-400)
Total height (tower and blades): 328 feet (taller than the Statue of Liberty)
Length of each blade: 112 feet
Weight of nacelle (module that houses generator at top of tower): 112,432 lbs. (56.2 tons)
Operates in wind speeds 8-56 mph
Operates at 11-20 revolutions per minute (one revolution every 3-5 seconds)
Each turbine includes onboard weather station
Automatic "yaw" control keeps turbine facing into wind
Automatic blade pitch control keeps machines operating at optimum efficiency
Weight of rotor assembly: 72,530 lbs. (36.3 tons)
Weight of entire turbine: 326,654 lbs. (163.3 tons)
Concrete foundations designed specifically for this turbine and this soil
Concrete foundations 14 feet in diameter, 18-26 feet deep
Tower in three sections, including base which contains electrical cabinets; access to top is inside tower
Power collection circuits on the mesa are underground for 90 turbines and overhead for the 17 turbines in phase 1
Collection substation at mesa's edge
138KV lines carry power from the wind farm into the Texas power network
Project to produce enough power for 40,000 homes
Project completed in 2001
Owned and built by American Electric Power, output leased to CPS Energy of San Antonio.
