Village Rawaipur situated at 40KM south of Kanpur City and 6 KM south east of Ghatampur town. It is on the road connecting Ghatampur to Fatehpur (Via Amauli). Population of around 5000 comprises of mostly Hindu's and some Muslims.Agriculture is main business of the people which is dominated by Kurmi's who are big land owners. Other prominent casts are Yadav's , Pal's who are involved in agriculture and dairy activities. Other casts are mostly agricultural labouror and part time brick field worker at village brickfields owned by prominent Kurmi of the village.Rawaipur has an Inter College named after Late Shree Mathura Prasad Verma (Freedome Fighter).Villagers are fortunate to have Shree Manna Lal Verma (also a Freedome Fighter) a very respectable and well known person of the area, who was elected 1st Gram Pradhan of Koriyan Gram Sabha in 1950 and immediate 2nd term when Gram Panchayats were created.He also won 3rd term in 1980s. Under his able guidance and his 1st tenure as Gram Pradhan, streets of village Rawaipur got Kharanja and a primary school.He has carried out a number of development works on all the 10 villages of Gram Sabha. Presently he is living peaceful life in village and probably he is the oldest living person of 90 years.
