USCG Station Kodiak is presently the largest operating base of the United States Coast Guard and the US Coast Guard's 17th District. Serving as the headquarters for Integrated Support Command Kodiak which is responsible for all USCG units West of 152 West longitude, the tenant commands at Station Kodiak include: USCG Air Station Kodiak, Marine Safety Detachment Kodiak, Communications Station Kodiak; Electronics Support Detachment Kodiak, Aids-to-Navigation Team Kodiak and the shoreside operation centers for the Cutters USCGC Alex Haley (WMEC-39), USCGC Munro (WHEC-724) and USCGC Spar (WLB 206).

In addition to these commands, Station Kodiak is also home to the North Pacific Regional Fisheries Training Center and is responsible for maintaining the LORAN Stations at Kodiak, St. Paul Island, Port Clarence and Attu Island.
