abandoned / shut down, historic ruins
Abandoned and burnt out ruins of the former Zenith Radio Company corporate offices and manufacturing plant. Known as Plant 1, approximately 2,500 workers made radio and television sets and Hi-Fi stereophonic phonographs. Shut down in 1988 and portions of the plant were rented out for various other uses. Burned in 2017. Ruins still stand as of 2026 as the site is prohibitively expensive to clear due to decades of contamination.
