Medven picturesque village is located on the southern slopes of Stara Planina among old oak and beech forests, 14 km southeast of Kotel and 43 km northeast from the district town of Sliven. Medven run along the picturesque river Medvenska. It rises 11 km from the village and is known for its fabulous Blue Pool and Jumps waterfalls. In the land of Medven has beautiful mountain caves - Lednitsata and Tsarevets. There is a nature reserve and wildlife. Medven many houses have been declared cultural monuments. The oldest of them still bear scars from Circassian axes gates. The two-storey buildings were built 150 years ago.
