The Grand Library of the Palace, with a collection of over 10,000 volumes, is an example of the king's love for literature and art.
The Royal Library, arranged on two levels, dating from 1875 to 1883 and decorated in the style of the German Renaissance, contains over 700 books from the royal fund (which contains over 30,000 copies), Princeps volumes, from various fields (literature, art, medicine , religion, history), in German, Romanian, English, French (the languages ​​I spoke to Carol).
Queen Elizabeth, an avid reader and author, under the pseudonym Carmen Sylva, spent many hours in the library, alongside volumes of poems, plays, short stories, etc. There is also a statuette depicting the Queen's embroidery, made in 1913, made of Italian marble (of this the model was also made in the castle courtyard).
