In the year 1602, the ruler of Wallachia RADU SERBAN and his army were to fight a battle against tatar hordes. But they agreed that battle would be decided by one man on each side. The chosen one from wallachian side (a former captain in the army of Michael the Brave)won the duel, but a poisoned arrow which had been thrown by his opponent made him die soon after.
On the place of the struggle was risen a monument (stone cross). Nowadays, on the top of the nearest hill rises a higher monument. Both can be visited for free.
