The site of the common meeting place of the Phokaian Confederacy in the Classical Period. The site is largely effaced by modern agricultural activity and partly overgrown. Numerous remains of stone blocks scattered about the fields, some presumably still in situ, especially on the so-called Sanctuary Hill to the northwest. Pottery remains date back to the Archaic and Classical periods. The ancient settlement is described by Pausanias during the Roman Period.
