On January 10, 1936 the Callan Brothers bought from Walter W. Davis property in Great Neck Hills for their new Wyngate development. The Firm of Aspinwall & Titus, and architect Arthur W. Coote were the principal designers. In the first phase they planned to build 10 dwellings at a price of $12,000 - $18,000. Ultimately they hoped to build a grand total of 100 houses. Patrick J. Callan was the direct supervisor of the project. Aspinwall was well known as an architect specializing in Colonial architecture. Coote was familiar with the area, as he had designed homes in nearby Kenilworth and University Gardens.
