163-foot, 15-story Renaissance Revival office building completed in 1928. Designed by William I. Hohauser, it is clad in brown brick above a 3-story rusticated limestone base. The western of its four bays has a lighter shade of brick and only rises seven floors.
The central of the other three bays has a trio of round-arches, with the main entrance is the larger middle one, with glass-and-metal double-doors recessed within the arch. The flanking arches have secondary doors, also recessed. The other bays have metal-and-glass storefronts on the ground floor. Lettering above the middle arch reads "FUR ART BUILDING". The 2nd & 3rd floors have large triple-windows in each of the four bays, with separate upper panes, in black metal framing.
The upper floors have trios of double-windows in each bay, with black metal mullions between the panes in the double-windows, and narrow brick pilasters between the window groups. Wider brick piers separate the bays, and the brick spandrels each have a row of four vertical niches with notched upper corners.
The 7th floor at the west bay is topped by a stone lintel with a finial on the west end pier and a small gable crowning the center of the bay. The outer two of the remaining three bays have a series of shallow, cascading setbacks beginning above the 7th floor, with these bays also narrowing at the sides on the 13th & 14th floors (the sides are angled at the 14th floor). The middle bay sets back above the 10th floor, with angled sides at the 11th & 12th floors, before a larger setback above the 12th, where another small gable crowns the bay. The 15th floor has two large windows in the middle bay, and three such windows at the outer bays. Rising above the middle bay and the lower roof line is a mechanical penthouse with three large window openings and another small gable.
The side elevations are brown brick, and have several bays of double-windows, reducing at the setbacks on the front and rear facades ascend.
Several floors are leased by the Fashion Institute of Technology, whose campus surrounds the building.
