Midtown West Hotel

USA / New Jersey / West New York / West 30th Street, 303

4-story hotel originally completed as two separate buildings (a larger east structure and a smaller western one) in 1870 & 1875. They were later joined and resurfaced in smooth-stucco, painted grey in 2013. The ground floor of the east section is painted a darker shade, with a metal-and-glass storefront facing the avenue, while the ground floor at the smaller west section is clad in black polished granite and contains the main entrance, with a glass door and sidelight. To the left is a window with grey granite below it, another window with a short upper and lower pane, and another window that is angled at the bottom and has another panel of grey granite. To the right is a wider window with an angled bottom, and grey granite below. The ground floor along the east section has two single-windows, and a metal service door at its west half.

The upper floors have four bays of single-windows at the west section, each topped by shallow arches of light-grey stucco. A grey metal fire escape has landings spanning the width of this section, which is crowned by a light-grey metal roof cornice with brackets and panels. The upper floors of the wider east section are set slightly lower, and have seven single-windows on the south facade, with the same shallow arches above them. Another fire escape has landings that span the western five windows. A thick, projecting, light-grey stone band marks the roof line.

The east facade has four bays of single-windows above the storefront, with another fire escape, and a continuation of the projecting band at the top. The storefront is occupied by MGS Convenience.
