Baywood Country Club was a Private 18 hole golf course and country club carved out of 185.49 acres purchased by Humble Oil in 1938. The golf course was opened in 1954 as "Humble Country Club" and assumed it's final name of "Baywood Country Club" in 1967. The country club closed in 2008. A portion of the property was redeveloped as The Preserve at Baywood Apartments. The original club house pool, tennis courts, and cart trails continue to slowly rot away on the undeveloped, neglected property.
