Estate home designed c. 1906 by Charles A. Platt for Christopher Temple Emmet. Emmet was a descendant of a wealthy family which was involved in the development of Stony Brook into a resort town in the early 1900's. He was also the brother of Devereux Emmet who lived nearby at "Sherrewogue".
