The Musala (Musalenski) Lakes are a group of seven lakes situated at 2,300 m to 2,700 m altitude in Rila Mountain. The highest of them is the Ice Lake, which is the deepest (16 m). The largest is Karakashevo Lake (6.5 acres). It bears the name of a young man who drowned in this lake. There is a very beautiful view to the lakes from Musala Peak.
