Church fortification - remains (Şura Mare)

Romania / Sibiu / Sura Mare / Şura Mare
fortification, historic ruins, 15th century construction, curtain wall (fortification)

The fortification was built at the end of the 15th century, probably after the destruction caused by the Turkish invasion in 1493.
It is preserved in the form of a ruin, best preserved on the north and west sides. On the west side, just in front of the west portal of the church, you can see the rest of a Gothic door frame, possibly a former frame moved from the church or a former entrance to a defense tower, now demolished.
