Șeica Mare, formerly Șelca Mare, Seica-Mare (in the Saxon dialect Marktšielken, Martšelkn, in German Marktschelken, Großschelken, Grossschelken, in Hungarian Nagyselyk, Selyk, in Latin Selk maior), is the village of residence of the commune of the same name in Sibiu County, historical region of Transylvania, Romania.
It is composed of six villages: Boarta, Buia, Mighindoala, Petiş, Şeica Mare and Ştenea. Calvaser (Kaltwasser; Hidegvíz) was also a village until the late 20th century, when it was absorbed by Şeica Mare village.
Year of first written attestation: 1309 (Symon decanus de Selk).
