Built in the XVth century by the wealthy hungarian Transylvanian royal family Apafi, transformed in the XVIIth and XVIIIth centuries.
Apafi Castle belonged to the Prince of Transylvania Michael Apafi who ruled for almost 30 years between 1661-1690 as a loyal vassal of the Ottomans.
Starting with the XVIIIth century the manor house belonged to the powerfull noble Bethlen Family.
