150-foot, 15-story Neo-Renaissance cooperative-apartment building completed in 1922. Designed by Rosario Candela, it is clad in brown brick above a light-grey-painted limestone ground floor. The round-arched main entrance is roughly centered on the south facade on 92nd Street, with wood, glass, and wrought-iron double-doors below a rounded, black canvas canopy extending out over the sidewalk. The doorway is framed by a 2-story surround of heavily rusticated stone, also surround a single-window at the 2nd floor, which is topped by a shield (with the letter C) and ribbons, between triglyphs and a surmounting pediment broken by the 3rd-floor window. To the left the ground floor has two vents, and then a plate-glass storefront at the west end, where a banded, 3-story stone pier marks the corner. To the right is a glass door with a very narrow sidelight and transom, opening into a commercial space with three windows to the east, the middle one being larger and extending down to the sidewalk. There are two vertical vents between the first two windows. Another banded, 3-story pier marks the east corner of the main wing. A deep light well separates the smaller east wing, and is fronted by an iron gate with two banded stone posts. The street slopes upward to the east at the east wing, shortening the ground floor. It has three bays, with short windows at the outer two (the east one having an iron grille) and a metal service door in the middle, set down a few steep steps. 3-story banded stone piers also mark the ends of the east wing.
The upper floors on the main wing have five single-windows in the middle; to the east are two smaller bathroom window and a single-window end bay, while the west has one bathroom window and a single-window end bay. The end bays and the outer single-windows of the middle section have rusticated stone surrounds at the 2nd floor, with keystones, as well as rounded pediments at the end bays. A dentiled band course crosses the top of the 3rd floor, with a sill course below the windows on the 4th. Brick quoins line the edges of the facade beginning at the 4th floor, where the single-windows have stone surrounds with keystones. There are rusticated stone surrounds at the three center windows on the 8th floor, fronted by a stone balcony. The 14th floor is set off by a stone band course and also has rusticated stone surrounds at the single-windows, with balustrades below the end bays and large keystones and rounded pediments above them. The other windows all have simple stone sills. The facade is crowned by a copper roof cornice with modillions and dentils. The east wing, with three bays of windows, has the same ornament, including a small balcony in front of the center window on the 8th floor, and its own roof cornice.
The interior of the light well is clad in the same brick, and the rear wall has two single-windows flanking an offset double-window, with thick, grey metal mullions separating the narrow west panes. The side walls of the light well have two single-windows and a double-window, and all the facades are dotted with protruding air-conditioning units.
The ground floor along Broadway is lined with metal-and-glass storefronts between the banded stone piers. The upper floors have single-window end bays, with three triple-window bays (separated by stone or brick mullions) in between alternating with two paired window bays. The ornament program matches that on the south facade.
The building contains 144 apartments. The ground floor along Broadway is occupied by The Vitamin Shoppe, Broadway Convenience Store, Chi's Cleaners, Fillup Coffee, Shishi women's clothing store, and Green Generation NYC juice shop. A storefront on 92nd Street, east of the main entrance, is occupied by Metro Frame Art.
