Children's Safety Village (Windsor, Ontario)

Sponsored by the Rotary Club of Windsor (1918) the Safety Village was opened in 2002 and provides an educational facility for children from Kindergarten to Grade 5. The village is dedicated to help reduce the number of injuries and fatalities among children and foster a positive relationship between children and emergency services personnel.

Situate on 2.3 ac. of Derwent Park the complex includes a main teaching building with classrooms and interactive displays along with a minature sized village to teach road safety with traffic lights and signs. Children from Windsor and Essex County area schools are given the opportunity to learn safety by driving minature motorized vehicles through the village streets.
