Punta Palmeras Wind Farm is located in the Coquimbo Region of Chile, right on the coast of the Pacific Ocean about 85 km SSW of Ovalle (longer along the road) near km 306 of the Pan-American Highway (24 km north of the junction with Route D-71). Commissioned in 2014, it consists of 15 Acciona AW-3000/116 wind turbines (power 3000-kW, diameter 116 m, hub height 92 m) with a combined nominal capacity of 45 MW.
