Canela II Wind Farm is located in the Coquimbo Region of Chile, right on the coast of the Pacific Ocean about 90 km SSW of Ovalle (longer along the road) and between kms 295-298 of the Pan-American Highway (15-18 km north of the junction with Route D-71). Commissioned in 2009, it consists of 40 Acciona AW-1500/77 wind turbines (power 1500-kW, diameter 77 m, hub height 79 m) with a combined nominal capacity of 60 MW.
