The Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul and Pacific Railroad line operated through Amphitheater Tunnel 4, one of 6 between Lewistown and Great Falls. This 745' tunnel was daylighted due to unstable ground. CMSP&P operated this line from 1914 until 1980. There were a total of 64 tunnels on the Milwaukee Road, 8 of which are still in use.
