The Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul and Pacific Railroad line operated through Sage Creek / Hoosac Tunnel, 1698' long, one of 6 between Lewistown and Great Falls. The CMSP&P operated this line from 1914 until 1980. Central Montana Rail is the current operator of this line. There were a total of 64 tunnels on the Milwaukee Road, and this is one of 8 of which are still in use.
