King Mountain Wind Ranch is a wind farm located about 15 miles west of Rankin, and 43 miles south of Odessa, Texas. It was commissioned in 2001 with 214 Bonus B62/1300 wind turbines with a combined nominal capacity of 278.2 MW.

Over the years a few adjustments have been made. For example, one Vestas V90/3000 turbine was added in 2003, and sometime 2008-2012 a turbine was removed and replaced at a nearby location with what looks like a GE turbine. At least one turbine also shows as damaged on the imagery, and there may be others.
In the news (April 2018) we learn that 210 turbines on this wind farm are slated to soon be repowered with newer and more powerful generators (details lacking, however).
