Cabazon Wind Farm is located in the San Gorgonio Wind Resource Area, south of Interstate 10 between exits 106 & 110, just east of Cabazon, California. It was developed in two phases. Phase I , the eastern portion, was commissioned in 1999 and consisted of 53 Zond Z-50 (750-kW) wind turbines mounted on trestle towers; Phase II, the western portion, was commissioned in 2002 and consists of 62 Vestas V47/660 wind turbines mounted on monopole towers. The nominal capacities are 39.75 MW and 40.92 MW.
Since then, one of the Phase I turbines has been removed (near the NW corner) and another has been replaced by what looks like another V47 model.
