Golden Hills North Wind Farm is located in the Altamont Pass Wind Resource Area (between Livermore and Tracy, California). It sits in the central part of this area, north and east of the Altamont landfill site. Commissioned in 2017, it consists of 20 GE Energy 2.3MW wind turbines with a combined nominal capacity of 46 MW.
The Golden Hills North turbines are intermixed with the previous generation of (smaller and shorter) wind turbines at the APWRA (many/most of which have been or are currently being decommissioned and removed) as well as with the 'intermediate' sized turbines of the Diablo Winds wind farm.
