Diablo Winds Wind Farm is located in the Altamont Pass Wind Resource Area (between Livermore and Tracy, California). It sits in the central part of this area, north and east of the Altamont landfill site. Commissioned in 2004, it consists of 31 Vestas V47/660 wind turbines with a combined nominal capacity of 20.46 MW.
The Diablo Winds turbines are intermixed with the previous generation of (smaller and shorter) wind turbines at the APWRA, many/most of which have been or are currently being decommissioned and removed.
