Vasco Winds Wind Farm is located in the Altamont Pass Wind Resource Area (between Livermore and Tracy, California). It sits in the northern part of this area, mostly north of Vasco Road and southeast of the Los Vaqueros Reservoir. Commissioned in 2011, it consists of 34 Siemens 2300-kW wind turbines with a combined nominal capacity of 78.2 MW.

The general area where Vasco Winds now sits was originally (1985) the home of 800 KCS-56 (100-kW) wind turbines. In 1992 an additional 20 KVS-33 (400-kW) turbines were added. Over time, the number of turbines in the area declined due to attrition, mitigation efforts and removal projects (e.g. building of the current Vasco Road through the original project). In 2011 the 438 remaining turbines were removed and replaced by the current 34 Siemens turbines.
