7-story Neo-gothic hotel completed in 1920. Designed by Hill & Stout for the neighboring Christ Church as a "dormitory" for low-wage earning girls, it was named Barbour House in memory of William D. Barbour who, as recorded in the 1943 Brick Church History “for over fifty years was the teacher and devoted friend of the children of the West Side.” The facade is clad in reddish-brown brick and white terra-cotta.
The painted stone base is parted in the middle by a small set of steps (between a pair of red-painted stone plinths) leading up to a deeply-recessed entrance in a pointed-arch, with a plain metal door. Flanking the arch is a pair of small windows, and above is a band of colorful terra-cotta decoration in red and green. The outer bay on either side has a triple-window with separate upper transom panes, all framed in stone, with more colored terra-cotta above. The ground floor is capped by a thin, red-painted stone band, and has a sign above reading "HOTEL BARBOUR".
The upper floors have three bays of paired windows. On the 2nd floor they have a stone sill course and brick lintels, while the 3rd-6th floors have more ornate terra-cotta surrounds and spandrels with paired-foil ornament. The 7th floor is set off by a terra-cotta band with diamond patterns, and has terra-cotta quoins on the piers. These extend up into the brick roof parapet, where they project, and there are also terra-cotta balusters over the outer-bay windows. The middle of the parapet has a gable with a small cutout.
