  • INS Dega is located at Vizag in Andhra Pradesh and was commissioned on 21 October 1991. The base is home to a number of helicopters that serve in the Indian Navy. The HAL Chetak, Kamov 28 and Sea King Mk.42 helicopters regularly operate from this airfield. During major exercises, a number of other fixed-wing aircraft - namely the Il-38 maritime reconnaissance aircraft, the Do-228 patrol aircraft and the BN-2B/T Islander patrol aircraft - also operate from this airfield.
