NAS Lemoore was commissioned in 1961 as the US Navy's newest Master Jet Base. Equipped with two offset parallel 13,500ft runways laid out 4,600 feet apart, NAS Lemoore encompasses almost 30,000 acres, of which 18.784 are owned outright by the Navy, and 11,020 more are used under air easement contract. Home to Strike Fighter Wing Pacific and its associated squadrons, NAS Lemoore's aircraft parking and maintenance hangars are aligned between the twin runways and serve as the maintenance and support base for the Navy's entire West coast fighter/attack capability.
