The commune is formed of one single locality, according to the last administrative division. Area: 4872 ha. Access ways: county road 552

Unirea village was attested for the first time in 1615. The inhabitants participated in the revolution in 1848, and the villagers offered their support to the Romanian army during the Independence War.

Historical name: Risipiţi.
