The Spring Canyon wind farms (I, II & III) are located about 2-9 miles (3-14 km) east of the town of Peetz, Colorado. Spring Canyon II & III were both commissioned in 2014 and consist of a total of 35 GE Energy 1.7-100 wind turbines with a combined nominal capacity of 59.5 MW. 19 of the turbines are considered to belong to "II" and the other 16 to "III".

Comments

  • Spring Canyon II and III were constructed and are owned & operated by the same company and they contain the same type of turbine and were commissioned only a month apart (Nov & Dec). Which makes it pretty puzzling why they are considered to be two farms and not one. For sure, I can find no documentation of which specific turbines belong to II and which to III.
