Caprock Wind Ranch stretches for 9 miles along the rim of the tableland about 9 miles south of the village of San Jon, New Mexico. (San Jon is located at Interstate 40 Exit 356, 16 miles west of the Texas border.) Commissioned in 2004 (60 turbines) and 2005 (20 turbines), it consists of a total of 80 Mitsubishi MWT-1000-61 wind turbines with a combined nominal capacity of 80 MW.
