The formal garden was designed by noted landscape artist Martha Brookes Brown Hutcheson {"Poplar Hill", "Oldfields"}, however only the overall landscape design remains. The planting specimens themselves seem to have died and replaced over the years. Other landscaping on the estate was by Olmsted Brothers, James Greenleaf, and the Pratt family themselves.
