Notable past owners:
- Alexander McDonald - highly prominent banker and politician. McDonald served in the Union Army during the Civil War, and entered politics after making Little Rock his home. He served as a U.S. Senator from 1868 to 1871, and was a delegate to the National Republican Convention of 1888. McDonald was also appointed by President Chester A. Arthur to complete a survey of the condition of the nation\'s railroad network. During his time living here, McDonald was considered the richest man in Arkansas.
- William B. Wait - prominent banker and real estate investor; The Waits were best known in Little Rock for their lavish parties in the home.
