Residence built c. 1850 for E.H. Somarindyck. It was purchased by Edward Irving Eldridge, Jr {financier, merchant} Eldridge served as a partner in the stock brokerage firm of Bull & Eldrige and was president of the Frederick Loeser & Co. department store, formerly H. Batterman Department Store.

Eldridge commissioned Howard Major to design alterations in 1920 to convert the home from an Italianate to Greek Revival style. The estate was then inherited by Malcolm Du Bois Hunter who named it "Glenlo" upon marrying Eldredge's former wife. In 1946, Harold Kleinert Guinzburg purchased the estate and made significant alterations. It is know used as a Sikh temple known as the Gudwara Mata Sahib-Kaur Temple since 2007.

  • Howard Major completed his work on Glen Lo farm for Althea Gibb Eldredge, the daughter of Mrs. Walter Gibb (of Old Orchard, Glen Cove)who was also the niece of Mrs. Herbert L. Pratt and Mrs. William Hester. Subsequent to Edward Irving Eldredge's death, his widow married Malcolm Dubois Hunter
  • The Hunters sold it in the 40's to Harold K and Alice Guinzburg who owned and ran the publishing house Viking Press. It belonged to the Guinzburg family until the early 1980's.
