Samseonam: Wishes of Three Nymphs Yearning for Heaven
Samseonam consists of three rocks, one of the most favored places among Ulleungdo’s three most famous seaside sights.
A legend says three nymphs took a fancy to Ulleungdo’s landscape missed their time to return to the heaven, offending Okhwangsangje (the Supreme Being) who turned them into rocks. The smallest rock, the youngest and laziest nymph, in particular, offended the Supreme Being in such a way that it's said not even a single plant is believed to grow on it.
