In the Lower Town South, the Southern Palace (Area FF) was built at the feet of the Citadel, and stretched over nearly 1,000 sqm; it was the Palace Prefect’s residence, a very high official, mainly charged with the organization of caravans and with the envoy of messengers, as might be proved by the presence of a large room, well preserved with basins for the animals mangers, used as a stable, built near the entrance to the building.
