Western Palace

 palace, ruins, prehistoric, bronze age

In the Lower Town West, the Western Palace (Area Q), was built close to another cult area, including Rashap’s Temple, god of death and of the Netherworld, and the Deified Royal Ancestors’ Sanctuary; it was the Crown Prince’s residence, who certainly co-operated with the king and the highest officials in government, but whose main duty was to take care of the cults for the deified royal ancestors, some of whom was meaningfully buried below the floors of the same building in the Old Syrian Royal Necropolis.
