 office building, Neo-Gothic (architecture), 1914_construction

150-foot, 12-story Neo-Gothic office building completed in 1914. Designed by Browne & Almiroty, it is clad in brown and beige brick and limestone above a 3-story limestone base. The piers at the base sit on granite plinths, framing two end bays and a wide center bay encompassing a large 3-story segmental-arch. The end bays have recessed entrances framed by Gothic ornament on the piers. The east end has the main entrance, with glass doors, and the west end has a service entrance with metal doors. Modernized glass-and-metal storefronts are in the wide center bay. The middle bays is organized into four center windows flanked by two wider end windows on both the 2nd & 3rd floors, separated by stone pilasters with Gothic shields; the 2nd-floor windows also have transoms. At the end bays, the 3rd-floor windows are topped by smaller segmental-arches. Between the two floors in each bay are stone spandrel panels with intricate carved designs. The base is capped by a simple band course.

The upper floors have a stone middle section, with four windows in the middle, flanked by double-windows on each side. The wide and narrow stone piers are adorned with Tudor style motifs, including shields in various patterns; the window spandrels are adorned with blind Tudor arcades. The end bays are brown brick with double rows of beige brick outlining the recessed single-windows; the spandrels feature diamond shapes in beige brick. There is a wide band course above the 11th floor, projecting further out as balconies with cartouche-like brackets at the end bays. The top floor has equally-spaced beige brick piers in the middle section dividing the eight square-headed, recessed windows, surmounted by a roof cornice and stone coping. The end bays have windows with ornamental enframements of both shades of brick, topped by a recessed stone panel, and crowned by a rounded pediment.

The facade is dotted with protruding air-conditioning units. The ground floor is occupied by Big Apple Mobility wheelchairs and scooters, Tempo Paris boutique, and Dental Aesthetics & Facial Group, with Teri Jon clothing on the 2nd floor.
