"Panfield" (Lloyd Harbor, New York)

USA / New York / Lloyd Harbor / Lloyd Harbor, New York
residence, Tudor (architecture), LIGC - Long Island Gold Coast, movie / film / TV location, historic remains

Estate home designed c. 1915 in the Tudor Revival/Jacobean style by John Mead Howells (of the firm of Howells & Stokes) on originally 299 acres of land for Albert Goodsell Milbank {attorney, financier, industrialist}. Milbank served as a partner in the Milbank, Tweed, Hope & Webb law firm, director of Equitable Trust Co., vice president and treasurer of Oceanic Investing Go., trustee of Title Guarantee & Trust Co., and chairman of Borden Co. which was founded by his great-uncle Jeremiah Milbank. He was also a member of the University Club of New York. The 25 room, 13 bathroom home had extensive landscaping designed by Lewis & Valentine and John Jacob Levison. The roof tile was fabricated by Ludowici. It also reportedly has imported antique fireplaces. The estate was built at a cost of $400,000.

In 1957, the estate was purchased by Salvatore Giordano, Sr. who subdivided most of the estate's property to roughly five acres. It was subsequently owned by Bernard Castro, Sr. and was inherited by his daughter Bernadette Castro Guida. The former reflecting pool in front of the house has since been converted to a swimming pool, but the home otherwise remains with excellent historic integrity throughout.

The estate used in 2019 as a filming location for the second season of the HBO series "Billions".
