Estate home designed in the 20th Century Eclectic style by Babb, Cook & Willard on originally 73 acres of land for Harold Irving Pratt, Sr {financier, capitalist, industrialist}. Pratt served as partner of Charles Pratt & Co., chairman of the board of North American Reassurance Co., director of Self-Winding Clock Co. and Morris Building Co., and a trustee of Brooklyn Savings Bank. Landscaping was designed by Olmsted from 1906-36, Isabella Pendleton, and James Leal Greenleaf. In the 1920's, Delano & Aldrich performed alterations which turned the home into a Georgian Revival style.

The estate is now part of Welwyn Preserve and is used as the Holocaust Memorial & Educational Center of National County. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
