The club, then part of the Doheny Park development, was constructed by a construction company headed by Luther Eldridge. The sprawling Spanish-tiled structure featured hand-painted beams and ceilings, swimming pool, marine dining room, ballroom, and the Swallows Nest bar. The club was eventually torn down in the 1960s due to neglect despite protest from local residents.
