One of the original Carnegie Libraries, designed c. 1902 by Ackerman & Ross with structural elements by the Guastavino Fireproof Tile Co. The interior was converted to be adaptively reused as an Apple Store location to a new interior by Foster + Partners.

  • It closed again in 2004 !
  • Correction to Nigel's comment: the City Museum that used to be here closed, but the Historical Society of Washington, DC now operates the building as a free museum open to the public.
