Blagden Alley & Naylor Court Historic District plus Columbia Street (Washington, D.C.)

The top city block is Columbia Street - to the North. To the South are Naylor Court and Blagden Alley - two more super-sized city blocks. The blocks between 9th and 10 Streets are wider than others. What was to become an Historic Area was developed within the decade after the Civil War. Naylor Court was noted for its stables and veterinary hospitals - some of the old signs have been restored. Blagden Alley was manufacturing and warehouse oriented. Some of the old buildings have been converted to dwellings.

In the early 1990' the 12,000 square foot warehouse in the center of Blagden Alley was the center of a "zany confederation of environmental activists and anarchist video guerrillas".
